Pieces of Time
Traveling Trunks
The Pieces of Time trunks are designed to bring
history to you through interactive lesson plans, and
reproduction objects. Each trunk includes a manual filled
with a variety of lesson plans, craft ideas, games, and
learning activities. Each trunk also includes a powerpoint
presentation cd for use in the classroom.
The reproduction objects in the trunks
include everything from children’s colonial costumes, games,
everyday objects, school tools, agricultural products,
books, and much more! These trunks will bring history to
life for your students as they learn about the lives of
early American planters, yeomen, and slaves.
Trunk Rental-
These trunks are available for rental at a
charge of $25.00 per week. There is no rental
charge for 3rd grade Title I school teachers
in the CMS system. Trunks may be renewed for a maximum
of three weeks. Please reserve a trunk at least two weeks
in advance by contacting Blair Elder at 704-875-2312, ext.
303 or belder@lattaplantation.org .
All trunks must be picked up and returned to
the museum during regular museum hours.
